We’ve introduced new components for on-call teams to automate alerting

You’ll now find alert and incident-related triggers, conditions, and actions in the Jira automation library.

Alert created
Rule is run when an alert is created.

Alert fields condition
Checks whether an alert's field meets a certain criteria.

Create incident
Creates a new incident in the selected service project.

Here’s a basic overview of each scope in Automation:

Projects

Use automation in service projects to create rules using,

  • Service requests

  • Incidents

  • Problems

  • Changes

  • Post-incident reviews

… and other Jira issue types.

If you’re a project admin, you can find Automation in project settings.

On-call teams

Use automation for team operations to create rules using,

  • Alerts

  • On-call work

If you’re a team admin, you can find Automation in the team’s Operations page.

Global automation
